Legalizing Marijuana Under Federal Law for a Prosperous Economy

Recreational Marijuana is slowly making its way into legal status in a number of states. States like Colorado, which have had legal recreational marijuana for a handful of years, have already provided statistical proof of economic prosperity from Marijuana sales. However, marijuana is still illegal for consumption under Federal Law, making it difficult for states to manage selling it. This is due to federal banks refusing to accept digital currency brought in from marijuana sales. This leads to dispensaries having to jump through hurdles as they can only accept cash, but if marijuana were to be legalized under federal law, or at least allow acceptance of digital revenue into federal banks, we could potentially see a substantial stimulation of the nation's economy.      There is already statistical proof of the success of recreational marijuana sales, yet its legalization is nearly stonewalled in congress. I believe this is solely because members of congress haven't found

North Korean Cyber-hacking | NYT Editorial

In a recent editorial titled " The Power of North Korea's Cyberthreat ", the New York Times' Editorial Board argues that it is not North Korea's nuclear power that should raise concern, but instead it's ability to hack and steal international digital information. This editorial argues that "even a megalomaniac like Mr. Kim understands that unleashing them [Nuclear missiles] would spell a hellish end to him and his country", and that cyber-hacking doesn't bore the same consequences. North Korea has already caused a number of headaches for the United States by instigating "multi-million-dollar digital bank robberies", as well as "attacks on movie producers and television networks to force them to cancel projects deemed hostile" by the totalitarian state. It is clear that this editorial adheres to any individual who sees North Korea as a present or imminent threat to the well-being of the United States. This editorial does a go

Abortion Rights | CNN Editorial

In her CNN Editorial "What women's lives are like when abortion is a crime", Alice Driver reflects on her thoughts and experiences after visiting a women's prison in El Salvador. She discusses the nature of abortion laws there, and how women can receive prison sentences for a simple miscarriage. Driver argues that the tragedy of this legislation in El Salvador is becoming increasingly relevant in US Government, due to Donald Trump's ongoing efforts to quell basic human rights for women. Driver is making a powerful argument here. She uses the atrocities of El Salvador's laws to help shed new perspective on the nature of abortion rights. However, she doesn't go as far as to say the US Government is one in the same; she simply plants the idea in the reader's mind that there are similarities between the two. This article is a fantastic read, and a 'friendly' reminder of how tumultuous these times are in American Government. Source: http://www.

According to a recent New York times article, this year is no different. It is important to keep an open dialogue about important political opin
